For five decades, Mr. Jean d’Estrées worked as a renowned Hollywood makeup artist and one of France’s most celebrated beauty experts. He provided exclusive beauty services and created signature, breathtaking looks for countless female stars—many of whom became his lifelong friends.
Mr. Jean d’Estrées met France’s national treasure and legendary singer of La Vie en Rose, Édith Piaf, early in her career. He crafted her signature look, which became part of her iconic image. The two maintained their correspondence over the years, and their friendship deepened with time. In 1950, when Mr. Jean d’Estrées returned to Paris to establish his namesake brand, he launched the first generation of his Rose Collection, in honor of the family’s legendary Gabrielle Rose formula. The very first bottle of facial oil was gifted to his dear friend Édith.
